A Look at the Relationship between Landscape Architecture and the City of Omaha

By Tom Bentley with Vireo Landscape Architects

Tom's presentation will give us a brief overview of what the landscape architecture profession is and what proficiencies we posses as a contribution to the design team process. Noting in particular the complimentary relationship that continues to evolve with the civil engineering profession.  With that introduction to how our professions work together, the balance of the discussion will be about the desire, logistics, and lessons learned thus far from project experiences in establishing ‘natural spaces’ within our urban context. Project examples will range from singular demonstration spaces, small scale vegetative BMPs as stormwater management, and tackling larger green infrastructure installations with examples from completed CSO!
